Dear Family;
Welcome to Integrative Pediatrics. We are proud to announce the
addition of Integrative Pediatrics CARE program, to serve your child’s
Neurodeveloopmental and Emotional needs. Research has shown that
children with special needs are best served with multidisciplinary
intervention. Increasing evidence for the effectiveness of alternative
treatments such as nutrition and biomedical interventions are giving
families a great deal of hope. However, it still leaves the question for
parents…”Is this helping my child? Is this what my child really needs?”
and in response we have added these services.
Our new program is two fold. First, it expands services so we can work
with a whole child model. All your child’s and families’ needs can be
discussed and addressed. Second, it allows us to monitor progress to
treatment programs so we know we are doing the very best. We can get
a detailed look at a child’s functioning and know where, when and how
interventions are making a change. We consider how the child is doing
in the office, at home and in his or her school environment. It will also
integrate treatments you are getting elsewhere, so we can get an overall
“big picture” view. This is where we look at the various pieces of the
puzzle and make sense of it all, giving a comprehensive intervention for
your child and your family.
You will be given an opportunity to complete various tests, assessments
and evaluations based on your individual needs. We will be getting a
baseline of functioning of how your child is doing now. Then we will
periodically repeat simple assessments or checklist every 3-6 months,
based again on your individual program. This also gives a systematic
way for us to follow up and keep up to date on your child’s development
and growth. Some assessments follow along different diagnostic
criteria, other assessments will focus on observable phenomena that we
can track over time.
Assessment programs include:
ASD Packet: an intake form and a PDDBI parent and teacher to monitor
observable phenomena in the Autistic Spectrum ADHD/Learning
Challenges Packet: an intake form and checklists designed to look at
issues surrounding attention, distractibility, impulsivity and other
challenges in the learning environment. Other Special Needs Packet: an
intake form and checklists based on specific concerns including a
general brain checklist.
You will need to bring the completed forms to your appointment as well
as any previous evaluations done. Consultations with our
