Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
(HBOT):

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a powerful therapy that
appears to be helpful in relieving speeding healing and
relieving inflammation in a wide variety of medical conditions.
The research evaluation of HBOT in children with autism is
just beginning, and some studies have shown its
effectiveness, while others have not. I have seen many
children with autism undergo profound transformations
during a month of intensive HBOT therapy, while many others
have not responded.  I recommend HBOT as a reasonable
option in situations in which other therapies have not been as
helpful as desired and parents want to pursue a novel
approach.   It is likely to be particularly helpful when there is a
history of brain injury, such as cerebral palsy.

There are 2 types of HBOT: high pressure hard chambers and
lower pressure soft chambers. No one has ever compared the
efficacy of the 2 approaches, but I believe that soft chambers
are probably safer. If you are interested in considering HBOT,
please contact me and I can discuss the advantages and
disadvantages of each.

If you are interested in renting a chamber to be used at home,
we rent soft chambers for $1,500 per month, plus delivery
depending on location. This includes an oxygen concentrator,
set up, and instruction. Renting a chamber will allow you to
complete twice daily treatments in the comfort of your own
home.
